It's the sales tax that is raising your "Registration fees". Sales tax cannot really be called part of the "Registration fees". You are correct. The sales tax is added to your invoice by the dealer. To get the cost of your "Registration fees" in this case, subtract the sales tax. (about $162.00 ?)

If you already paid sales tax at the dealership, you do not have to pay use tax to the state. The use tax is only for people who buy the car out of state. If you bought the car in-state, you can subtract the use tax from the total. I'm guessing the use tax is the bulk of that figure.

Somethings wrong on that one..unless the vehicle is a Bentley or something.

Sales tax is added on at the dealership, yet it is separate from the actual price of the vehicle.

You only pay the sales tax once. The yearly registration can be obtained by deducting the sales tax amount fron the total.

I'm in mo the sales tax is only a one time thing. But here we get the great glory of having to pay personal property tax every year on cars ect. so that will run you a couple hundred a year and get lower as the car gets older. Thats if you have that out there. some states do not.

Some dealers offer cash back rebates and some will give cash back and put your sales on top of the price of the car. Which is really kind of stupid anyhow cause then your paying interest as well as the 1400.

Dont forget you'll need full coverage on that new car. Theres another chunk of money every month.
with gas theres another 50 bucs just to fill the tank.
Then around 30000 miles youll need tires theres another 400 bucs.

Almost not worth it is it.
